We believe everyone deserves access to housing, care options, and guidance free from discrimination. This Fair Housing & Non-Discrimination Policy explains how we work, what we stand for, and what you can expect when you contact us for assistance in Southwest Florida, including Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Sanibel Island, Captiva, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Estero, and Naples.
Our promise is simple: we will treat your family like our own while providing clear, informed recommendations based on care needs, preferences, availability, and budget—not on personal characteristics that have nothing to do with safe, appropriate care. Whether you are an adult child coordinating from out of state, a “snowbird” planning ahead, or a local senior exploring the next step, you will be met with empathy, professionalism, and fairness.

1. Equal Service and Respectful Guidance
Gulf Coast Senior Home Finders provides senior placement and advisory support for assisted living, memory care, and private-duty home care. Our role is to guide families through options, share “boots-on-the-ground” insight into local communities, and help match care needs to appropriate settings. We do not discriminate in the delivery of our services and we strive to make every interaction welcoming, culturally competent, and respectful.
We do not exclude, limit, or treat anyone differently based on protected characteristics under applicable fair housing and civil rights laws. This includes, where applicable, race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), familial status, and disability. We also aim to provide an inclusive experience for clients of different ages, languages, cultural backgrounds, marital statuses, veteran statuses, and sources of income, consistent with the laws and regulations that apply to housing and care settings in Florida and federally.
2. How We Make Recommendations
Because we know senior living and home care “from the inside out,” we take pride in offering honest, localized guidance. Our recommendations are based on factors that directly impact care quality and a senior’s well-being, such as:
- Level of care needed (assisted living support, memory care needs, skilled services coordination, or in-home care hours)
- Safety considerations and supervision requirements
- Clinical and functional considerations (mobility, medication management, fall risk, cognitive changes)
- Lifestyle preferences (activity level, dining preferences, social environment, pets, and proximity to family)
- Budget, pricing structures, and value
- Geography and logistics (Naples, Fort Myers, the barrier islands, and surrounding communities)
- Availability of appropriate accommodations
We will never steer a client toward or away from a community based on who they are. We also do not create “short lists” designed to separate people into different communities based on protected traits. Instead, we focus on the best fit for care, safety, and the feeling of home—because that is what matters most during a transition.
3. Accessibility and Disability-Related Support
We respect the rights of individuals with disabilities and recognize that accessibility and reasonable accommodations can be essential to a successful placement. If you or your loved one needs disability-related accommodations to participate in our process—such as additional time during calls, alternate methods for receiving information, or help understanding next steps—please tell us. We will do our best to communicate in a way that supports your needs.
Many senior living communities and home care agencies have their own policies regarding accommodations, accessibility features, and assessments. We can help you ask the right questions and understand what each provider can offer. Final decisions about accommodations within a specific community or service are made by that provider, but we will advocate for clarity, respect, and a fair process.

Gulf Coast Senior Home Finders brings a culturally aware, relocation-friendly approach to every family we serve. We understand that what feels “like home” can be deeply personal—shaped by language, traditions, food, faith, privacy preferences, and social comfort. Our job is to listen carefully, honor those preferences, and help identify settings where a senior can thrive.
We welcome conversations about cultural, spiritual, and lifestyle preferences, including communities that offer specific programming, dining options, holiday observances, or social groups. Expressing a preference is not the same as discrimination; our goal is to help you find an environment that feels safe, familiar, and supportive.
5. What We Expect From Partners and Providers
Gulf Coast Senior Home Finders maintains relationships with a vetted network of senior living communities and home care providers across the Gulf Coast region. While each provider operates independently and sets its own admission criteria and policies, we expect our partners to treat prospective residents and clients with dignity and fairness. We also aim to share information responsibly and accurately, and to raise concerns when we see practices that appear inconsistent with fair housing principles or respectful care.
It’s important to know that assisted living and memory care communities may have legitimate clinical admission criteria related to safety and the ability to meet care needs. This can include staffing levels, licensing limitations, and whether a community can safely support certain medical or behavioral needs. When a community determines it cannot safely meet a person’s needs, we will help you understand the reason and pivot quickly to appropriate alternatives—without judgment and without delay.
6. Communication, Privacy, and Respect
A fair process also means a respectful process. We communicate with kindness, protect personal information, and avoid assumptions. If you share sensitive health details to help identify the right care level, we treat that information as private and only use it to support your search and coordinate next steps with your consent.
7. If You Feel You’ve Experienced Discrimination
If you believe you were treated unfairly or discriminated against during your interactions with Gulf Coast Senior Home Finders, we want to hear from you. We take concerns seriously and will review them promptly. You may contact us to discuss what happened, request clarification, or ask for a different approach moving forward. If your concern involves a third-party provider (such as a senior living community or home care agency), we can help you document the issue and explore alternative options so you are not left navigating the system alone.
